Château Beauferan Rosé

Learn more

Recently purchased by the Cheylan family, Château Beauferan is located on the nearby hills of Velaux. Abandoned for years, the Beauferan estate, its winery, its cellar, and its vineyard were ready to be recalled to life. Realizing the estate’s fabulous potential, Robert, Noële, Christine, and Pascal Cheylan purchased the abandoned estate in 2014 and began restoration of the vineyard immediately. After several years of work without a sufficient harvest, the estate now produces high quality grapes each year.

Until the renovation of the Château Beauferan cellar is complete, the grapes will continue to be vinified in the cellars of the Château Virant.

The objective of the Cheylan family is to restore this estate and return nobility to the name Château Beauferan.

Château Beauferan Rosé, PDO Coteaux d'Aix en Provence, is created by direct pressing and cold stalling. The Grenache, Syrah, and Cabernet varieties that comprise this vintage wine give it a fruity nose with notes of cherry and strawberry. Fans will recognize a refreshing taste with notes of citrus and exotic fruits. It is this unique taste that makes this rosé particularly enjoyable on summer evenings.

Pairings

Enjoy the Château Beauferan Rosé wine as an aperitif or with grilled meats and fish, Provencal dishes, or spicy dishes. You can also discover newly created flavors by pairing it with goat cheese.

Tasting advice

Rosé wines are generally consumed chilled. Try cooling your glass before serving by quickly swirling an ice cube inside. To preserve the aromas of the wine, remember to remove the ice cube before serving.

Environmental distinction

Château Virant has an HVE 3 certification issued by the French government. This distinguished label is only obtained after having reached the highest level of environmental certification for farms. This label signifies sustainable production and practices with careful management of natural resources.

Awards

In 2016, the Château Beauferan Rosé won the silver medal at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris.

The CGA allows farmers across France to compete against their peers in select categories. Year after year, Château Virant continues to medal with its wines and its olive oils, making it one of the most awarded estates in all of France.

The Château Beauferan Rosé also won a silver medal at the Bettane-Dessauve Competition in 2020.

This contest is judged by wine enthusiasts from around the world who rate the wines available to them based upon their price range and taste attributes. Wines that medal at this particular competition are specifically noted for being high quality vintages within their particular price range. Winning an award in this competition assures that a particular wine is recognized as top-quality wine in its category on an international scale.

In 2019, the Château Beauferan Rosé won a silver medal at the Mondial du Rosé.

The Mondial du Rosé competition, organized by the oenologists of France, allows rosé wines from all over the world to compete against one another. It is a competition mainly intended for catering and wine professionals that assess the quality of the wines of an estate on an international scale.

Finally, the Château Beauferan Rosé wine regularly obtains medals in the Aix-en-Provence competition. In 2016 and 2017, it won a silver medal, and in 2018, it won a gold medal.

The Aix-en-Provence competition recognizes the best wines of the Aix-en-Provence PDO category. It is a competition of producers whose wines are judged by the professionals in the industry. Winning in this category identifies our Château Beauferan Rosé wine as one of the most highly awarded rosé wines in the region.
