Les Minettes. The name of choice for a well-represented estate.
In English, the slang term “les minettes” translates as both “the babes” and “the gals.” So, if this name evokes the elegant young ladies of the South of France, it is no coincidence. Christine Cheylan wanted a modern, sparkling, and refreshing wine, in short an all-pink reference to the minettes of Provence! The choice to name this wine was personal as well. From childhood, her father Robert gave her this affectionate nickname.
This fresh wine with pale salmon reflections perfectly compliments festive evenings out because it is structured with a beautiful liveliness. Les Minettes wine is the perfect balance of finesse, elegance, and freshness.
The grape varieties used to create this wine, Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, are worked by direct pressing to obtain a clear color, a perfect match for lovers of contemporary rosé wines.
Its vinification in cold stalls and cold fermentation give this wine notes of citrus and flowers.
Pairings
Try Les Minettes on its own, as an aperitif, or as an accompaniment to salads, white meats, or grilled fish. This wine also compliments other dishes with Provencal flavors.
Tasting advice
Enjoy this wine chilled. For an optimal experience, chill your glass in the refrigerator for a half an hour before tasting.
Environmental distinction
Château Virant has an HVE 3 certification issued by the French government. This distinguished label is only obtained after having reached the highest level of environmental certification for farms. This label signifies sustainable production and practices with careful management of natural resources.
Awards
Although it is a new product, in 2020, Les Minettes won a bronze medal at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris.
The Concours Général Agricole in Paris allows farmers across France to compete against their peers in select categories. Year after year, Château Virant continues to medal with its wines and its olive oils, making it one of the most awarded estates in all of France.
In 2018, Les Minettes also won a silver medal at the national Vinalies competition.
This competition is especially impressive because the jury is composed exclusively of oenologists who judge both the quality and the typicity of the wines submitted for tasting. Winning a prize in this prestigious competition recognizes Château Virant as a quality producer in the wine industry.
