Inspiration Red Wine (Tradition)
The Inspiration Red wine is the estate's flagship wine. This emblematic red wine was born in 1998 from the perfect blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Grenache grape varieties. Through much research and taste testing, the Cheylan Family discovered the perfect combination of grapes necessary to produce this select wine.
With the support of the cellar master and the oenologist, the family determined that the winemaking methods for this wine would be the same as those used on the old hillside vines. For our Inspiration red wine, the grapes undergo pre-fermentation maceration at 15 ° with a fermentation at a controlled temperature between 18 ° and 22°C followed by a long vatting of four weeks. The result is a powerful, balanced, and structured red wine.
This best selling wine reveals consistent taste attributes. No matter the vintage, you will discover aromas of red fruits in jam, cocoa, and garrigue. After the fourth year of storage, the tannins become finer and more integrated. This wine becomes rounder and smoother with age.
Our Inspiration Red can be enjoyed with modern or reimagined traditional dishes. Lamb chops with herbs, grilled meats, and cheeses will all be enhanced by this inspired wine.
Enjoy this wine now or store it in the cellar to enjoy at a later date. Remember to aerate your wine for a few minutes before tasting to enjoy the best expression of its aromas.
Château Virant has an HVE 3 certification issued by the French government. This distinguished label is only obtained after having reached the highest level of environmental certification for farms. This label signifies sustainable production and practices with careful management of natural resources.
Our Inspiration red wine regularly wins medals at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris and in 2016, this vintage medaled.
The Concours Général Agricole in Paris allows farmers across France to compete against their peers in select categories. Year after year, Château Virant continues to medal with its wines and its olive oils, making it one of the most awarded estates in all of France.
Inspiration red wine also medaled at the National Vinalies competition. In 2020, it won the Vinalie d'Argent by vintage, in 2018 the Vinalies prize, and in 2017 the Vinalies excellence prize.
The jury for the Vinalies Nationales competition is composed of oenologists who judge both the quality and typicity of the wines submitted for tasting. Winning a prize in this prestigious professional competition indicates Château Virant as a recognized top wine producer in the industry.
Finally, our Inspiration red wine won medals in the Aix-en-Provence competition. In both 2014 and 2017, it won a silver medal.
The Aix-en-Provence competition recognizes the best wines of the Aix-en-Provence PDO category. It is a competition of producers whose wines are judged by the professionals in the industry. Winning in this category identifies our Inspiration red wine as one of the most highly awarded red wines in the region.

1ère commande de ce vin tout juste livré, mais que je dois laisser reposer avant de le gouter. mais je présume qu'il reste dans la même veine de qualité que les autres vins "maison".
